Job summary

Sovos is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the full data pipeline stack and design the Snowflake/dbt architecture that underpins our financial data platform. You will collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and leadership to deliver reliable, production-ready data outputs and enable AI/BI consumers with well-governed data.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years building large-scale data pipelines, strong SQL and Python skills, and experience with Snowflake and dbt.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of data engineering experience with production pipelines and dbt at scale.
• Strong SQL skills including complex queries and performance tuning.
• Hands-on dbt development, tests, and semantic metadata for AI/BI consumers.
• Deep Snowflake knowledge: roles, governance, row-level security.
• Experience supporting financial close and on-call incident ownership.
• Familiarity with CRM/ERP integrations (NetSuite, Salesforce) is a plus.
• Experience with Python for orchestration and ML pipeline basics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the full data pipeline stack from ingestion to finance‑ready outputs.
• Design and build Snowflake schema and dbt models for top-line metrics.
• Ensure data quality, testing, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with analytics engineers and finance stakeholders on data needs.
• Maintain pipeline reliability and serve as on‑call escalation point.
• Extend models to cover OPEX, COGS, commissions, and ASC 340‑40 scope.
