Job summary

Sovos is building a world-class financial data platform in Amsterdam and is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the full pipeline—from ingestion to close-ready outputs. You will design Snowflake architecture and dbt models that underpin ARR, Rev Rec, and related finance outputs, with direct impact on FP&A and leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in data engineering and production pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills with complex financial queries and window functions.
• Production dbt experience with tests, docs, and semantic metadata.
• Snowflake roles, warehouses, governance, masking, and row-level security.
• Experience supporting financial close cycles and on-call ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Snowflake schema and dbt model architecture for topline data chain.
• Deliver ingestion and transformation models with test coverage and documentation.
• Own pipeline reliability through financial close; serve as on-call escalation point.
• Establish data quality standards, dbt testing conventions, and Snowflake governance.
• Partner with Analytics Engineer on business-layer model design for finance needs.
• Extend dbt model layer to cover OPEX, COGS, commissions, ASC 340-40 scope.
• Write dbt YAML documentation as production deliverables.
• Own row-level security and model freshness SLAs for real-time AI queries.
