Job summary

Sia in Maastricht is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead client engagements, co-design data engineering solutions, and ensure delivery from strategy to execution. You will design robust analytics pipelines, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior colleagues.

The role requires a WO Master’s in a technical field, 3–6 years of experience, and Dutch fluency; you will work with Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure, plus participate in internal training and external thought leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a technical field with substantial programming.
• Stack varies by client; Databricks, Snowflake and Azure are commonly used.
• 3-6 years of relevant professional experience (or equivalent academic research).
• Strong analytical mindset and systematic problem‑solving abilities.
• Fast learner with strong communication, adaptability and entrepreneurial drive.
• Interest in data and AI topics and ability to quickly build expertise.
• Dutch fluency with excellent communication; German or French a plus.
• Proven interest in Data Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Data Architecture & Pipeline Design: Build robust, scalable data pipelines and architectures for ingestion, processing, and delivery of large data volumes.
• Cloud & Distributed Systems: Design data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and frameworks like Spark and Kafka.
• Database Design & Data Modeling: Develop logical/physical data models and optimize DB solutions for varied workloads.
• Data Integration & Loading Patterns: Implement batch, streaming, and real-time data integration for structured and unstructured data.
• CI/CD & DataOps Practices: Enable CI/CD for data services and infrastructure with modern DevOps tooling.
