Job summary

Invisix Measuring Systems is seeking an Algorithm Architect to provide technical leadership for data-processing and model-based reconstruction algorithms across the measurement pipeline. You will own the architecture, guide implementation choices, and define roadmaps with a focus on accuracy, robustness, and throughput.

The role requires a PhD in a related field and 10+ years post-PhD experience, with strong expertise in computational optics and inverse problems.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of post-PhD experience with technical leadership or mentoring.
• Deep knowledge of computational optical methods, specifically Fourier optics.
• Experience in inverse problems and model-based reconstruction or related computational field.
• Awareness of software engineering practices (testing, reproducibility, versioning).
• Ability to articulate algorithmic trade-offs to non-specialists.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and design decisions for data-conditioning, data-processing, and reconstruction algorithms.
• Translate requirements into concrete algorithm specifications.
• Define compute hardware needs to meet throughput targets.
• Collaborate on engineering standards for the algorithm codebase.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the algorithm team.
• Define performance criteria and a roadmap toward less manual review.
