Job summary

Clockworks in Rotterdam seeks a Solution Architect to define and implement the body around AI brainpower. You will shape architecture before coding, ensure performance, security, and maintainability, and align with client ecosystems and ClockworksOS. This is a hands-on, senior role with leadership across projects and products.

You will mentor engineers, review solutions from SE to security, and define standards. Fluent English is required; Dutch helps in client conversations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with production systems.
• Broad architecture knowledge: microservices, event-driven, serverless.
• Security-minded: zero-trust, data protection, GDPR, API design.
• Strong Python programming and ability to build rather than just plan.

Responsibilities

• Build production code for core system components and client integrations.
• Design scalable, secure, maintainable architectures for AI-integrated systems.
• Review Clockworks solutions with SE, DevOps and security lens.
• Define technical standards and architectural guidelines, create decision records.
• Mentor engineers and align stakeholders around architectural decisions.
• Stay current on cloud, security and AI tooling; contribute to roadmaps.
