bunq is reshaping how people experience financial freedom. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will drive our AI-first transformation, building intelligent systems to scale and operate smarter and faster.

You will design production-grade AI agents, train and deploy LLMs, and partner with teams across bunq to translate business needs into robust AI solutions. Hybrid setup applies after 3 months in-office, with travel and learning benefits included.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy production-grade AI agents and systems that automate complex workflows and unlock new capabilities for all departments, such as operations or marketing.
• Leverage our extensive datasets to train, fine-tune, and implement sophisticated LLMs and machine learning models that solve critical business challenges and drive innovation.
• Act as a key AI expert and partner to teams across bunq, identifying high-impact opportunities and translating diverse business needs into robust, scalable AI solutions.
• You build production-grade LLM applications (agentic systems, RAG, tool-use).
• You are experienced with LLM fine-tuning and cost optimization strategies.
• You have deep knowledge of classical ML and behavioural modelling.
• You have a strong grasp of ML infrastructure and MLOps (AWS).
• You excel at translating business problems into scalable AI solutions.
• You are fluent in English – able to communicate effectively in a global team, ensuring collaboration and clarity across all project stages.
