GKN Aerospace is recruiting for an Engineering Functional Programme Lead / Principal Engineer to steer engineering teams across complex aerospace programmes, ensuring delivery of technical solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, safety and performance.

The role combines deep technical expertise with the ability to guide teams, influence stakeholders and drive programme success in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of engineering experience, ideally in aerospace.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders.
• Experience with compliance, certification, and airworthiness processes.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead functional engineering teams to deliver programme objectives on time and on budget.
• Provide technical oversight ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and airworthiness requirements.
• Manage risk and support development of robust engineering solutions across the lifecycle.
• Review and approve technical solutions, documents and reports.
• Drive design excellence, including DFMA and Design to Cost.
• Support certification activities and customer reviews.
