Job summary

Exact Software Germany GmbH’s Security Operations team is seeking a junior to mid-level software engineer to help build secure tooling and IAM functionality. You will translate findings into concrete fixes and contribute to IAM development while working across languages such as C#/.NET, C, Python, and PHP.

You will participate in security campaigns, address low-level issues, and help refine shift-left tooling and playbooks.

Qualifications

• Software engineering background with real code written and shipped.
• Interest in application security and penetration-testing techniques (OWASP Top 10).
• Trace vulnerabilities to the source and understand attacker usage.
• Basic threat modeling concepts (STRIDE).
• Comfort reading code across languages and frameworks.
• Clear, structured communication to engineers and stakeholders.
• Collaborative, learning attitude with growth toward autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Build secure tooling and IAM functionality.
• Participate in structured security campaigns: inventory, risk ranking, investigation, reporting.
• Tackle low-level security issues and build tools to prevent insecure patterns.
• Help build and improve shift-left security tooling and playbooks.
• Contribute to recurring scanning and testing programs with engineering teams.
