As a Security Engineer, you will design, implement, manage, and continuously improve security controls and tooling across ORTEC's global environment. You will work closely with internal teams to detect threats, manage vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, and drive security improvements throughout the organization.

This role is part of ORTEC's Corporate Security Team, where you will contribute to building a secure, resilient, and modern security capability. You will have the opportunity to influence security strategy, drive technical improvements, and help shape the future of security at ORTEC.

What You'll Do

As a Security Engineer, you will:

  • Protect ORTEC's networks, endpoints, cloud platforms, systems, and applications against cybersecurity threats.
  • Safeguard ORTEC and customer data by implementing and maintaining effective security controls.
  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and information.
  • Manage, optimize, and continuously improve ORTEC's security tooling and technical security controls.
  • Implement and maintain security controls within Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID environments.
  • Monitor security events and investigate threats using XDR, cloud security, and monitoring platforms.
  • Support incident response activities and work closely with Incident Coordinators during security incidents.
  • Drive the vulnerability management process by identifying, prioritizing, coordinating, and tracking remediation of vulnerabilities through vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, threat intelligence, and security advisories.
  • Perform proactive threat and vulnerability analysis based on emerging risks and industry developments.
  • Conduct technical security assessments and compliance checks in collaboration with system and application owners.
  • Collaborate with IT, Cloud Operations, Development, and business stakeholders to implement security improvements and reduce risk.
  • Identify opportunities to automate security operations, monitoring, reporting and remediation activities.
  •  Help define and improve technical security standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Proactively identify recurring issues, security risks, and improvement opportunities, and drive initiatives that strengthen ORTEC's security posture.
  • Drive security automation and continuous improvement initiatives across ORTEC.
