Independer is seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen our IT security posture across cloud, network and applications. You will implement security controls, conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with cross-functional teams.
You will integrate security into the SDLC (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, secrets management) and drive risk-based decisions with stakeholders. Hybrid work is supported, with a focus on secure design and governance.

As a Security Engineer, you are responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures that protect our IT infrastructure and networks. You conduct vulnerability assessments, respond to incidents, and ensure that security is structurally integrated into our technology and processes. With your expertise, you strengthen the organization’s security posture and help teams work securely and compliantly. Without this role, vulnerabilities remain unresolved longer, risks are identified too late, and the likelihood of security incidents increases.

You will of course not do this alone, but together with a group of engaged and driven colleagues. In this role, you work closely with IT, DevOps, and development teams to integrate security early in the design of infrastructure and software. You act as a subject matter expert and sparring partner for teams across the organization. You also participate in audits, architecture reviews, and risk assessments, and actively contribute to increasing security awareness within the organization through training and targeted communication.
