Job summary

Saef BV is seeking a hands-on Security Engineer to own security across the platform, including app, web, cloud and hardware data flows. You’ll translate trust into architecture and hands-on controls, balancing protection with speed of delivery in a small in-person team.

You’ll lead threat modelling, enforce secure development practices, and ensure privacy by design, with GDPR considerations shaping product security and carrier for insurers, partners, and customers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security with deep software and cloud roots.
• Hands-on experience securing production systems handling sensitive data.
• Command of secure architecture, threat modelling, and modern security tooling.
• Deep understanding of privacy regulation (GDPR) as it touches product security.
• Ability to set a high bar pragmatically in a fast-moving team; you protect without becoming a bottleneck.
• Trusted, clear, and effective in a small, in-person team.

The role

Own security at Saef, where trust is the whole product.

A data breach at Saef doesn’t make the news for a day and blow over. It destroys the one thing we sell: trust. You own security across the platform, the product, and the way the team works, from a strong software perspective. App, web, cloud, hardware data flows: if data moves, you are responsible for it moving safely. This is hands‑on ownership, not an oversight function watching from the sidelines.

What you’ll do

• Own the security architecture across app, web, cloud, and device data flows
