Job summary

Saef BV in the Netherlands seeks a senior security lead to own security across the platform, product, and team processes, translating strong software roots into practical protections for app, web, cloud, and device data flows.

From threat modelling to privacy by design, you’ll ensure secure development practices without slowing the team. You’ll partner with insurers and customers on an ongoing basis, with real responsibility from day one in a small, senior team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of security with software and cloud background
• Hands-on experience securing production systems handling sensitive data
• Strong secure architecture and threat modelling
• Deep understanding of privacy regulation (e.g. GDPR) as it touches product security
• Ability to set a high bar pragmatically in a fast-moving team; you protect without becoming a bottleneck

Responsibilities

• Lead threat modelling, reviews, and testing; drive fixes to closure, not just to a ticket
• Protect wearer and owner data end to end, with privacy built in by design

The role

A data breach at Saef doesn’t make the news for a day and blow over. It destroys the one thing we sell: trust. You own security across the platform, the product, and the way the team works, from a strong software perspective. App, web, cloud, hardware data flows: if data moves, you are responsible for it moving safely. This is hands-on ownership, not an oversight function watching from the sidelines.

What you’ll do

• Own the security architecture across app, web, cloud, and device data flows
• Define and enforce secure development practices the whole team can live by without slowing down

What we’re looking for

• Command of secure architecture, threat modelling, and modern security tooling
• Deep understanding of privacy regulation (e.g. GDPR) as it touches product security
• Ability to set a high bar pragmatically in a fast-moving team; you protect without becoming a bottleneck
• Trusted, clear, and effective in a small, in-person team

Nice to have

• Experience with connected hardware, IoT, or wearable device security
• Exposure to luxury, financial, or other domains where trust is the product
