Clearbody ® Discovery & Development | Utrecht Science Park | Full-time (1 year)
About Clear2Cure
Clear2Cure is a preclinical-stage biotech company developing a new class of extracellular targeted protein degraders (eTPD). Our Clearbodies® are bi- and multi-specific VHH-antibodies that bind disease targets and trigger their lysosomal degradation. This creates a new way to drug targets that conventional small molecules and biologics struggle to reach efficiently. We are well-funded and moving quickly in a new frontier of drug development.
The role
We are hiring a Scientist as a key member of our drug discovery team. In this role, you will perform experiments, drive platform development and help design a completely novel class of therapeutics.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, engineering, and optimizing novel multi-specific drug candidates.
- Developing, running, and troubleshooting assays to characterize drug candidates.
- Executing studies to understand how drug candidates behave in relevant biological systems.
- Coordinating experimental work (in vitro and in vivo) with CROs and external partners.
- Working with the leadership team on patent filings, and grant applications.
Who you are
- High agency: You take ownership, move quickly from idea to experiment, and hold yourself to a high bar.
- Ambitious: You bring energy to the lab and enjoy building something ambitious with a small team.
- Adaptable: You can shift smoothly between different types of work and remain effective and optimistic when priorities, plans, roadmaps, and responsibilities change.
- Resilient: Early-stage startups can be demanding, and discovering new drugs is difficult. You’ve demonstrated the persistence to tackle difficult problems and stay committed over the long term.
Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant life-science field (e.g. immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacology) or an equivalent, demonstrable track record at the bench.
- Strong hands-on experience with cell culture, FACS, microscopy, and quantitative cell-based assays.
- Self-sufficient and organized at the bench; you plan, execute, and document your experiments with care.
- Strong ability to clearly communicate complex scientific concepts within an interdisciplinary team.
- Industry experience (biotech/pharma) and/or experience with VHH antibodies, antibody engineering, or targeted protein degradation is a strong plus; the ability to learn fast and work hard matters even more.
- You are authorized to work in the Netherlands.
What we offer
- A min. 1-year full-time appointment with real ownership and the opportunity to grow your role as the company scales.
- Direct collaboration with the founders and access to an experienced network of advisors.
- A competitive compensation package.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and we will proceed as soon as we find the right candidate.
