332 Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen B.V. is seeking a Ship Metal Worker located in Vlissingen, Netherlands. In this role, you will fabricate ship components and perform various tasks related to the hull and structures of ships.

About Us

Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen B.V. is located in Vlissingen-Oost and is part of the Damen Shiprepair & Conversion group. The group consists of 12 shipyards worldwide. Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen specializes in maintaining, repairing and converting ships and other maritime objects.

Role

As a Ship Metal Worker you work on the fabrication of ship components and perform various tasks on the hull and structures of ships under the direction of the Production Pool Coordinator or Steel Workshop Coordinator.

Key Accountabilities

• Receive instructions and read drawings and schedules.
• Assess the working area, supports, availability of tools and materials and determine the approach within given margins.
• Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, riveting and other operations on ship parts that need to be modified, repaired or replaced and carry out measurement tasks (dimensions, thickness).
• Execute various machining tasks such as cutting, grinding, (welding) and trimming.
• Install sheet metal individually and set up, align and weld profiles and beams.

Skills & Experience

• BBL 2/3 vocational and thinking level.
• Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in ironwork.
• Manual skill for diverse sheet metal and constructive tasks.
• Knowledge of measurement and adjustment tools.
• Proficiency in English sufficient for operation with non‑Dutch speakers.
