Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Satellite Engineering and AIV Manager for the Copernicus LSTM mission, currently in Phase D. You will lead a section of engineers, manage satellite design, interfaces, and budgets, and coordinate with the launcher authority and other Copernicus missions.

You will report to the LSTM Project Manager and collaborate with Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality, supporting system-level software development and verification while ensuring on-time

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required with four years of professional experience, or a bachelor’s degree with an additional four years of relevant experience.
Proven leadership of a section of engineers in a project context and ability to interface with multiple project sections.

Responsibilities

Lead satellite engineering and AIV activities for the space segment in line with system requirements.
Consolidate and maintain satellite requirements, design, development, test and verification.
Monitor industrial activities and procurement to ensure compliance with technical and programmatic requirements.
Define and monitor AIT/AIV activities for satellites, platforms, subsystems and units.
Manage satellite interfaces and technical budgets; ensure harmonised procurement approaches.
Oversee design and procurement of spacecraft subsystems (structure, thermal, propulsion, mechanisms, power, avionics).
Support onboard software development and validation activities with the LSTM System Section.
Coordinate interfaces with launcher authorities and with other Copernicus missions.
