Within Thales Naval, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) has been implemented to bridge the gap between strategic and operational planning. Responsible for this process is the S&OP team, which is part of Operations and comprises eight highly motivated and skilled professionals.
In the role of S&OP Supply Planner Engineering you are a key player within the monthly S&OP cycle. You are responsible for the delivery of the S&OP supply plan for Engineering per segment and per discipline. Engineering is by far the biggest organisational part of Thales Naval with more than 1000 employees working in Hengelo and partners located at different sites in Europe. The supply plan aims to balance Engineering workload versus available and projected capacity. You make sure all stakeholders are committed, follow the process and deliver their input on time. After balancing the supply and demand you review the outcomes with Engineering Segment and Discipline Managers. If necessary, you create with your stakeholders scenarios to close gaps and present these at the S&OP Engineering supply meeting. After the management chooses a scenario or solution you monitor that this is executed within the business. In this role you have a close collaboration with the Demand Manager, Bid Management, PMO and Engineering Management to collect your input, align and present outcomes and develop scenario’s. Last but definitely not least, you initiate, lead or contribute to improvements of this part of the S&OP process. You feel comfortable to work in a volatile and challenging environment where quality and format of source data, tooling, creating scenario’s and reporting is still in development.
