Heerema Marine Contractors, based in Leiden, seeks a ROV & Subsea Tooling technical subcontract coordinator to bridge teams across vessels, projects, and external suppliers.

You will own subsea engineering scopes, manage subcontractor interfaces, and provide hands-on technical support during testing, mobilization and offshore execution. Growth opportunities span Decommissioning, Transport & Installation and Offshore Wind.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ocean/related fields.
• 3-7 years of offshore subsea or marine engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage interfaces with subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Your role in the story

As a vital member of our Subsea Services group, you are the technical link between Heerema's vessels, project teams, and external subcontractors. Your pragmatic mindset and can-do attitude allow you to deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions in a dynamic project environment.

You take ownership of subsea engineering scopes, manage technical interfaces with subcontractors and act as the primary engineering contact within assigned work scopes. Through your expertise, you play a key role in delivering safe, effective and innovative subsea solutions.

As a ROV & Subsea Tooling technical subcontract coordinator, you'll have the unique opportunity to work on diverse projects across multiple product lines, including Decommissioning, Transport & Installation, and Offshore Wind. This dynamic role offers a front-row seat to the full spectrum of projects we are involved in, giving you a broad and comprehensive understanding of our operations.

What you will be working on:

Technical subcontractor management support

• Support and manage the technical interface between subcontractors and Heerema's vessels and project teams.
• Technically assess and evaluate subcontractor proposals for subsea services.

Tender and project preparation

• Advise on ROV, subsea cutting and dredging operations and propose fit-for-purpose tooling solutions.
• Identify project requirements and defining required subcontractor equipment and personnel.
• Prepare scopes of work and review subcontractor procedures.
• Define testing and qualification requirements.
• Provide technical support during equipment testing, mobilization and offshore execution of subsea operations (~10% of the year).
• Stay informed about developments and innovations in the subsea market.

Key ingredients for success

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, Ocean Technology, Aeronautical & Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Approximately 3-7 years of relevant experience within offshore, subsea, marine or related engineering environments.
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical expertise within subsea operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary project teams.
