MoonPay is hiring a Risk & Compliance Specialist for a remote role. You will conduct risk assessments, maintain the PRC Inventory, and perform compliance testing to identify control gaps and remediation needs.
The role requires 2+ years in risk management or regulatory compliance within fintech or crypto, with direct crypto experience and EU regulatory familiarity. Fluent Dutch is preferred, enabling effective collaboration across international teams.
Qualifications

- Direct professional experience in cryptocurrency.
- Experience with risk and compliance requirements in various EU jurisdictions.
- Ability to independently assess moderately complex risk and propose practical, scalable controls.
- Professional fluency in Dutch.
Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments across the business, including regulatory and operational risks.
- Maintain and enhance MoonPay’s PRC Inventory to align with regulatory requirements.
- Perform compliance testing and monitor remediation of control gaps.
- Support global regulatory compliance efforts across laws and industry standards (EU and others).
- Prepare clear, data-driven reporting for senior leadership to support governance.
- Stay informed on emerging crypto regulatory developments and potential impacts.

- Conduct risk assessments (including RCSAs) to identify, analyse, and document financial, operational, legal, and reputational risks across the business.
- Maintain and enhance MoonPay’s Process, Risk & Control (PRC) Inventory, ensuring risks and controls are clearly documented and aligned to regulatory requirements.
- Perform compliance testing and monitoring activities across Compliance and business functions, identifying control gaps and tracking remediation.
- Support global regulatory compliance efforts by ensuring policies, procedures, and controls align with applicable laws and industry standards (including EU and other key jurisdictions).
- Prepare clear, data-driven reporting and risk insights for senior leadership to support decision‑making and governance oversight.
- Stay informed on emerging crypto‑related regulatory developments and evolving risk trends, proactively highlighting potential impacts to the business.
- 2+ years of experience in risk management and/or regulatory compliance, ideally within fintech, financial services, or crypto.
- Direct professional experience in cryptocurrency
- Experience with risk and compliance requirements in various EU jurisdictions
- Demonstrated ability to independently assess moderately complex risk and compliance scenarios and propose practical, scalable solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into effective controls.
- Detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional and international stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
- Professional certifications (CRMP, CRCM, CCEP, CAMS, or similar).
- Experience working in a high‑growth startup or scale‑up environment.
- Professional fluency in Dutch.
