Job summary

Genewity is seeking a Research Technician Gene Therapy to join our team working on advanced autologous ex vivo lentiviral gene therapy research. The role involves in vitro efficacy screenings, data analysis, and meticulous documentation in a fast-paced environment.

You will work on diverse molecular biology techniques and biochemical assays, with opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge therapies for rare diseases. English proficiency is required and the position is full-time.

Qualifications

  • HLO/HBO/BSc or MSc in life sciences.
  • Hands-on aseptic cell culture experience.
  • Flow cytometry experience is a plus.
  • Molecular biology techniques: DNA/RNA extraction, (q)PCR, dPCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis.
  • Biochemical analyses: protein electrophoresis, Western blotting, ELISA.
  • Viral vector gene therapy experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and collaboration.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in vitro efficacy screenings for ex vivo LV gene therapy treatments and support in vivo sample analyses.
  • Plan and execute practical lab work, perform data analysis, and communicate results.
  • Document experiments and maintain detailed lab records in an electronic lab book.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols.
  • Participate in laboratory maintenance and support tasks.
  • Recognize day-to-day problems and implement solutions based on standard and novel procedures.
  • Present experimental design and results in group meetings.

Key responsibilities
  • Perform in vitro efficacy screenings forex vivo LV gene therapy treatments and support in vivo sample analyses.
  • Plan and execute practical lab work, perform data analysis, including communication of work and results.

  • Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols.

Qualifications & skills
  • HLO/HBO/BSc or MSc, in a Life Sciences-related field (biological/medical sciences).
  • Hands-on experience with aseptic cell culture techniques.
  • Experience with flowcytometry (FACS) is a plus.
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction,(q)PCR, dPCR, cloning, and gel electrophoresis.
  • Hands-on experience with biochemical analyses (e.g. protein electrophoresis, western blotting, ELISA).
  • Experience in viral vector gene therapy is a plus.
  • Experience in assay development and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues productively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English.
