Eli5 is seeking a Backend Developer to design and maintain backend systems powering our software products. You will influence requirements, architecture, integration, and prototyping, working across startups and design-focused teams.

You will collaborate with frontend developers and designers, and advise clients on technical trade-offs within product strategy. Proficiency in English and Dutch is valued, with flexible work options.

Qualifications

• Experience with Laravel or Node.js backend development.
• Proficient in PHP with MySQL/MariaDB.
• Strong English and/or Dutch communication; able to collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design lean, maintainable backend infrastructure and integration systems.
• Create maintainable and extensible backend systems.
• Define and scope the backend part of projects with team and clients.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers and designers in project teams.
• Advise clients and product owners on technical pros and cons within strategy.
