Job summary

Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) is seeking a Regional Validation Specialist to join an international team delivering verification and validation for CTCT products. You will work closely with CTCT and external partners to ensure high-quality performance on earthmoving and paving systems.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of machine control technical experience.
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience with CAN/J1939, Ethernet, Cat ET and wireless communications.
  • Testing and validation experience with grade control products.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in risk identification with the product/project team.
  • Identify customers, manage logistics, order kits, train customers, gather feedback and document issues.
  • Collaborate with Cat, Trimble, and CTCT teams to identify validation targets.
  • Create test plans for external customer machines and sites.
  • Serve as the first contact for issues from external customer sites and manage them.

About Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT)

The CTCT division (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar) develops positioning, control, and automation products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers, and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance. What Makes This Role Great

The Regional Specialist will be part of an international team providing customer verification and validation for CTCT products. This position networks closely with CTCT internal product/project teams, as well as Caterpillar and Trimble product teams, to provide high-quality products to the earthmoving and paving industries.

Key Exciting Responsibilities
  • Responsible for participating in risk identification process with the wider product/project team
  • Customer identification, logistics, kit ordering, product training, feedback, issue resolution and documentation.
  • Working with Cat and Trimble to identify appropriate customers for validation.
  • Creating test plans regarding external customer machines and sites
  • First point of contact for identification and management of product issues from external customer sites
  • Management of Trimble, Caterpillar and CTCT databases used in tracking product issues
  • Process efficiency projects related to risk-based testing
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Relevant Qualification or Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of machine control technical experience
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience with CAN/J1939, Ethernet, Cat ET and wireless communications
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a global team, dealers and customers
  • Machine control expertise involving Global Navigation Satellite System technology or lasers
  • Problem-solving and time management skills
  • Previous testing and validation experience with grade control products
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated passion for the business
Top Candidates Will Also Have
  • Experience in the field of surveying
  • Experience with GNSS, machine control and guidance system design or validation
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude as well as manual dexterity to work well in bench test and machine test environments
  • Data processing computer skills
