Job summary
Rail Force One in Rotterdam is looking for a Rail Coordinator who can stay level‑headed, keep an overview and guide trains safely. You will be the link to train drivers, traffic posts, customers and terminals, and you’ll inform our German colleagues in cross‑border traffic.
You work in a close team within our Operations department, which runs 24/7 in shifts. Two early, two late and two night shifts followed by four days off are the rhythm, with full training to become a Rail Coordinator.
Qualifications
- MBO level working and thinking
- 1–5 years of rail/transport experience
- Flexible attitude: mornings, late shifts, nights and weekends
- Strong communicative attitude and ability to make decisions
- Excellent Dutch and English; some German language knowledge
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Process notifications for ports, trains, and terminals
- Enter data accurately into systems
- Keep customers and suppliers updated on train runs
- Handle delays and rescheduling smoothly
- Communicate via phone, email and Teams
- Ensure clear handovers for continuity
- Monitor pool car park
- Prepare instructions for train drivers
- Assist in incident handling
- Support safety-related issues
