Job summary

Abbott Nutrition in Zwolle seeks a Manager Quality Control to lead the QC department and ensure the highest standards in product quality and regulatory compliance. You will develop mid- to long-term strategies, oversee all QC activities, and sign quality documents.

Reporting to the Plant QA Director, you will manage a team of professionals and drive continuous improvement while aligning with Abbott’s global QA policies and regulatory requirements. Fluent Dutch and English are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy, or Food Technology.
• 3–5 years of experience in a regulated industry (e.g. pharma, medical, healthcare).
• Proven leadership experience in quality control or quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC systems and food/pharma regulations.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

• Develop and implement QA policies and procedures for the QC domain.
• Translate strategy into annual plans and budgets, and ensure execution.
• Oversee quality control activities for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Manage non-conformance handling and product complaints.
• Lead supplier assessments and audits.
• Ensure compliance with GMP and other relevant regulations.
• Release products and materials in accordance with Abbott and legal standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and process optimization.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members in line with HR policies.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and maintain visual management systems.

Are you a quality-driven leader with a strong background in pharmaceutical or life sciences? Abbott Nutrition in Zwolle is looking for a Manager Quality Control to lead our QC department and ensure the highest standards in product quality and compliance.

About the Role

As Manager Quality Control, you will be responsible for developing mid- to long-term strategies and annual plans for the QC department, aligned with Abbott’s global QA policies and regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of professionals and oversee all aspects of quality control, including incoming goods, in-process materials, and finished products. You will report to the Plant QA Director and act as a key decision-maker in quality-related matters, with the authority to sign quality documents and certificates.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy, or Food Technology
• At least 3–5 years of experience in a regulated industry (e.g. pharma, medical, healthcare)
• Proven leadership experience in quality control or assurance
• Strong understanding of QA/QC systems and food/pharma regulations
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written
