Kyndryl Inc. is seeking a Python & API Developer for a partially remote role based in Hoofddorp, North Holland, Netherlands. You will design, build, and secure backend services and RESTful APIs using Python, FastAPI, and related tooling.

This hybrid position blends on-site collaboration with remote work to support enterprise-scale integration projects. Ideal candidates bring 4–8 years of backend development experience, strong Python skills, and a solid understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API

The candidate should have solid software engineering fundamentals and experience integrating APIs with databases, cloud services, and enterprise applications. **Key Responsibilities*** Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Python.* Build scalable APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python frameworks.* Develop request/response models and validation using Pydantic.* Design and maintain API specifications using OpenAPI / Swagger.* Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and related security mechanisms.* Integrate APIs with databases, downstream applications, and external services.* Implement robust error handling, logging, monitoring, and exception management.* Develop asynchronous and high-performance Python services where required.* Write unit and integration tests using pytest.* Perform code reviews and follow software engineering best practices.* Support CI/CD, application deployments, troubleshooting, and production support.**Who You Are****Required Skills** **Must Have:** Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, Pydantic, SQL, pytest, Git, API authentication/authorization, asynchronous programming. **Good to Have:** Azure, Docker, Kubernetes/AKS, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Kafka/Event Hubs, OpenTelemetry, Azure API Management. **Engineering Practices**Good understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, microservices, clean architecture, secure coding, API design, and code-quality practices. **Experience*** 4–8 years of software/backend development experience.* Strong hands-on experience with Python and API development.**Being You**The “Kyn” in Kyndryl means kinship, which represents the strong bonds we have with each other, our customers and our communities.
