TELUS Digital invites psychology graduates to join its AI safety community as independent contractors. You won't need tech expertise; apply your understanding of human behavior and mental health to assess AI-generated content for safety, usefulness, and responsibility.

Work is remote with flexible scheduling. You'll review potentially risky content, analyze AI interactions for bias, report risks, and ensure sensitivity to mental health topics.

Do you have a background in Psychology? At TELUS Digital, we are looking for freelancers to help make the internet a safer place. You don't need to be a tech expert or a computer scientist. Your job is to use your understanding of human behavior and mental health to check if AI-generated content is safe, helpful, and responsible. You are the "Human Compass" that helps the AI understand people better.

What You’ll Do (Simple Tasks):

• Safety Reviews: Review content that has been flagged as potentially risky or harmful and decide if it follows safety rules.
• Behavior Analysis: Look at how an AI interacts with users and identify if it is showing any biased or unfair behavior.
• Risk Reporting: Identify "gray areas" where an AI might give bad advice and suggest better, safer ways for it to respond.
• Mental Health Awareness: Use your degree to ensure the AI recognizes sensitive topics and handles them with care.

Qualification path

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Native Language: Native-level proficiency in your primary language. You need to understand the cultural and emotional "vibe" of how people talk in your country.
• English Proficiency: Basic (B1) English so you can read our project guides and safety rules.
• Empathy & Logic: You are good at understanding how people feel and spotting risks that others might miss.

Assessment:

In order to be hired into our community, you’ll go through a subject-specific qualification exam that will determine your suitability for the position and complete ID verification.

Payment:

Currently, pay rates for experts range from $20 - $50 USD per hour
