Job summary

The Highfield Company in the Europe region seeks an experienced Site-Based Project Manager to lead complex structural steel packages from mobilisation through to successful completion.

You will work with site teams, clients, principal contractors, engineers and fabrication teams to deliver safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards across the UK and Europe.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel erection and installation.
• Site-based project management experience.
• Coordination of specialist subcontractors and site teams.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Coordinating lifting plans, temporary works and erection sequences.
• Managing health and safety, quality, programme and cost.
• Collaborative work with clients and principal contractors.
• Willingness to travel and rotate across the UK and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Manage the on-site delivery of structural steel erection and installation projects.
• Coordinate steel erectors, supervisors, subcontractors and lifting operations.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and commercial performance.
• Liaise with clients, principal contractors, engineers and internal fabrication teams.
• Review drawings, specifications, RAMS and erection methodologies.
• Monitor progress and provide clear project reporting.
• Ensure work meets all quality, safety and contractual requirements.
• Identify potential delays or technical issues and implement practical solutions.
• Manage site logistics, deliveries and sequencing.
• Lead projects through commissioning, handover and close-out.

Location: Project sites across the UK and Europe
Salary:75,000 - 85,000 Euro + Company Car + Expenses + Living Allowance

The opportunity

We're recruiting an experienced Site-Based Project Manager to join a leading structural steel specialist delivering complex, high-profile projects across the UK and Europe.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of technically demanding structural steel packages from mobilisation through to successful completion. You'll work closely with site teams, clients, principal contractors, engineers and fabrication teams to ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the on-site delivery of structural steel erection and installation projects


• Coordinate steel erectors, supervisors, subcontractors and lifting operations

About you

You'll be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in structural steelwork. You should understand the full steel installation process and be confident managing complex site operations in demanding project environments.

Essential experience includes:

• Managing specialist subcontractors and site teams


• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications


• Coordinating lifting plans, temporary works and erection sequences


• Managing health and safety, quality, programme and cost


• Working collaboratively with clients and principal contractors


• Travelling and working on rotation across the UK and Europe

Relevant construction or engineering qualifications and recognised site-management certifications would be advantageous.
