Merck Gruppe - MSD Sharp & Dohme in Boxmeer is recruiting a Project Manager Bioprocess Technology Solutions to drive early and late-stage LM process development for the R&D vaccine portfolio across Europe. You will work with BTS, ATS, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure successful tech transfer and robust product supply.

The role requires familiarity with lab operations, analytical skills, and experience in vaccine manufacturing or related bioprocess areas.

Qualifications

• Relevant BSc/MSc/PhD education and/or experience.
• Familiarity and expertise in laboratory operations.
• Experience with viral antigen production, bacterial antigen production (Upstream and Downstream processing) or vaccine manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently in a changing international environment.
• Knowledge of GxP guidelines is a plus; understanding regulatory/compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a (Junior) project manager for one or more projects and project teams, including planning, alignment, oversight, risk management and reporting.
• Coordinate knowledge exchange between BTS, R&D and Manufacturing to optimize technology utilization.

For our animal health location in Boxmeer we are currently recruiting aProject Manager Bioprocess Technology Solutions!

The global Bio Technology Solutions (BTS) team (230 employees) drives and executes Bioprocess technology excellence in close alignment with their partners in R&D and Manufacturingtoensure robust product introductions, producttransfersand a reliable product supply to customers. BTS has considerableexpertisein viral cell culture, bacterial fermentation, downstream processing, purification, freeze drying and vaccine formulation. Theyare responsible forseed development, new product process development,validation/qualificationand commercialization of our animal health large vaccine pipeline. Our global Product Development Team (75 employees) provides process development, and process improvement of the Large Molecule (LM) vaccine portfolio covering the discovery, pre-developmentand development phase as well as transfer from R&D to Manufacturing.

Purpose of the role

Reporting to one of the BTS Leads, youare responsible fordriving (part of) the LM process development of the R&D vaccine portfolio for all species in Europe. Projects have low to moderate complexity andcoverthe discovery, pre-development, development, transfer, regulatory,launchand post-launch phase. This role requires close collaboration with BTS, ATS, Quality departments and Manufacturing at different LM sites, R&D species teams, Discovery & Technology, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, Global Supply Chain and Network Strategy.

Primary responsibilities

• Acts as a (Junior) project manager forone or more projectsand project teams. This includes, amongst other experimental planning, strategic and (inter)departmental alignment, budget oversight, issue and risk management, stakeholder management, objective setting and reporting.
• Communication and knowledgeexchange between global BTS departments and between Global R&D and Manufacturing tooptimize knowledge andtechnology utilization andbenefitfrom synergies.
• Writes Statements and Assessments, Subject Protocols / Memos / Reports, and Regulatory documents.
• Follow external developments / trends in vaccine process development on specific focusareas.
• Performs subject-related literature searches and publishes and presents technical papers to internal and externalaudiences.
• Operational responsibility for development of (improved) processes on one or a couple of focus areas such as upstream, downstream, Vaccine Manufacturing, IPC, FPC, media, bacteriological, viral, monoclonal, expression system).
• Recommends new areas of technology research anddevelopment.
• Involved in resolving manufacturing and supply issues of our vaccine portfolio according to the needs ofManufacturing.
• Is open to general tasks with the organization related to lab coordination and globalevents.
• Manages interns and students.
• Consultant of Global Supply Chain (GSC) management, business development and legal on theirexpertise.

Your profile

• RelevantBSc/MSc/PhDeducation and/or experience
• Familiarity andexpertisein laboratory operations.
• Experience with either viral antigen production, bacterial antigen production (Upstream and Downstream processing) or vaccine manufacturing and relevant laboratorytechniques.
