Job summary

VAT Vakuumventile AG is seeking a hands-on operations specialist to coordinate daily activities in mechanical manufacturing. You will support CNC operators, setup technicians and production staff to maintain smooth material flow, prioritize orders, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.

Your role includes tackling problems and contributing to shopfloor meetings and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • Basic technical training related to mechanical work and production.
  • Several years of experience in CNC manufacturing or mechanical production.
  • Sound knowledge of machining processes, tools and production workflows.
  • Strong understanding of quality and processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, independent working style.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor daily operations in mechanical manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support for CNC operators, setup technicians and machining staff.
  • Ensure efficient flow of materials and orders within production.
  • Support prioritizing and processing production orders.
  • Monitor compliance with quality, safety and process standards.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate problems to Team Leader.
  • Participate in shopfloor meetings and training of new employees.
  • Monitor KPIs such as productivity, scrap, OEE and on-time delivery.
  • Participate in Lean, CIP and process optimization projects.
  • Deputize for Team Leader in their absence.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordination and monitoring of daily operations in mechanical manufacturing
  • Technical support for CNC operators, setup technicians, and employees in the machining area
  • Ensuring an efficient flow of materials and orders within production
  • Support in prioritizing and processing production orders
  • Monitoring compliance with quality, safety, and process standards
  • Support in troubleshooting and escalation of problems to the Team Leader
  • Conducting and/or supporting shopfloor meetings
  • Support in the onboarding and training of new employees
  • Monitoring key performance indicators such as productivity, scrap, OEE, and on-time delivery
  • Participation in Lean, continuous improvement (CIP), and process optimization projects
  • Deputizing for the Team Leader in their absence
Requirements
  • Basic technical training, preferably as a polymechanic, production mechanic, or in a comparable mechanical profession
  • Several years of experience in CNC manufacturing or mechanical production
  • Sound knowledge of machining processes, tools, and production workflows
  • Strong understanding of quality and processes
  • Strong organizational skills as well as a solution-oriented and independent working style
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and common MS Office applications
  • Willingness to take responsibility for day-to-day operational activities
