Argent Energy Limited is seeking a Production Specialist to supervise pre-treatment and biodiesel production, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality output to meet the production plan. The role involves monitoring operations, chasing yields to budget, and driving improvements across plant performance.

You will support the Production Manager, lead teams, and contribute to training while ensuring safety, environmental standards and KPI targets are achieved at our Amsterdam facility.

Qualifications

• Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering or significant process operations experience.
• Experience in a chemical process plant is essential.

The Production Specialist will be involved in supporting shut downs (normal and emergency), start up and commissioning of plant and equipment and implementing new initiatives and projects.

Main purpose of the role

The Production Specialist is responsible for overseeing the pre-treatment / biodiesel production process to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality output in order to meet the production plan.

Your main responsibilities will be:

1. Delivers the Production Plan by monitoring operating conditions and daily results to ensure plant performance and variable costs are optimised and quality standards are met.

2. Ensures yield aligns with budget and variances explained by identifying issues that prevent production targets being achieved.

3. Identifies and implements optimum operating conditions to improve plant throughput and reliability.

4. Investigates equipment or procedural failures and monitors improvement actions to completion.

5. Supports the development of new or updated operating instructions and procedures and communicates with all key stakeholders to ensure consistent process operations.

6. Support Production Manager to motivate and lead the Team leaders and operational teams to ensure that all time is utilised, and down time is capitalised and recorded.

7. Assists in the development and assurance of training to ensure it is technically correct and supports the technical and troubleshooting skill development of operators through direction and coaching.

8. Deputises for the Production Manager as required ensuring plant health, safety and environmental performance meets agreed standards, targets and KPI's.

Your key relationships will be:

Internal

• Production Managers, Ops Support Leads and Team Leaders to ensure changes to operating procedures are communicated and adhered to.

• HSE for input on safe operations

• Supply Chain & Finance to provide information on plant yields and expected production rates

External

• Knowledge and understanding of current SHE legislation and compliance, i.e. IPCC, EA, HSE

• Supporting Plant Change Request (MOC) processes

• Operational excellence principles

• Good written skills to develop processes and procedures

Experience and qualifications required:

• Degree in Process or Chemical engineering OR significant process operations experience

• Previous experience working in a chemical process plant (essential)

• Experience in managing and delivering plant improvement projects and turnarounds
