Job summary

Hunkemöller is seeking a Product Sustainability & Compliance Assistant to translate sustainability goals into practical actions across products and packaging. You will collaborate with CSR, Buying, Technical, Design, and suppliers to strengthen processes, improve data and traceability, and prepare for evolving legislation.

You will coordinate data requirements, drive ecodesign initiatives, monitor legislation, and support internal communications and training.

Qualifications

• Interest in sustainability and fashion.
• Qualification in fashion business management, environmental studies, or related field.
• Well organized, able to prioritize workload, attentive to detail with certification processes and data.
• Analytical and solution oriented, able to translate complex requirements into practical actions.
• Able to develop and implement clear processes and guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to align sustainability requirements, goals, and KPIs.
• Coordinate product and packaging data requirements, ensuring data quality, completeness, and readiness for traceability and reporting.
• Contribute to the supply chain traceability project in preparation for the Digital Product Passport.
• Help drive the adoption of preferred and lower-impact materials, exploring ecodesign strategies across the lifecycle.
• Monitor emerging sustainability and product legislation and translate requirements into clear actions for the business.
• Contribute to internal sustainability communications and practical guidance for stakeholders.
• Monitor chemical product testing to ensure end products meet chemical safety standards.
• Support other sustainability-related product and packaging projects.

Product Sustainability & Compliance Assistant – Job Description

As Product Sustainability & Compliance Assistant, you will help turn Hunkemöller’s sustainability goals into practical action across products and packaging. You will work closely with CSR, Buying, Technical, Design, and suppliers to strengthen our sustainability and compliance processes, improve data and traceability, and prepare the business for evolving legislation.

What will you do?

• Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to align Hunkemöller’s sustainability requirements, goals, and KPIs.
• Coordinate product and packaging data requirements, ensuring data quality, completeness, and readiness for traceability and reporting.

About you!

• You are passionate about sustainability and fashion, have a good understanding of materials, and are keen to build your knowledge of product legislation.
• You have an HBO, Bachelor’s, or Master’s level qualification in fashion business management, environmental studies, or a related field.
• You are well organized, able to prioritize your workload, and attentive to detail when working with certification processes and data.
• You are analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to interpret complex requirements and translate them into practical actions.
• You can help develop and implement clear processes, guidance, and ways of working.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and can communicate clearly with colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders at all levels.
