Job summary

Qualifications

• Экспертное владение CAD и DFM-потоками.

Responsibilities

• Вести или помогать на всех стадиях дизайна от исследований до CAD, прототипирования и документации.
• Переводить технические требования в manufacturable-дизайн.

Engineering Lab is a hands-on hardware product design studio based in Amsterdam. It partners with start-ups and scale-ups to design, prototype, and build innovative devices across industries, including aerospace sensors, custom MIDI controllers, mobility and data systems, and interactive installations.

Задачи:

• Lead or contribute to the full design process from research and concept sketching to CAD, prototyping, and final documentation
• Translate abstract or technical requirements into compelling, manufacturable product designs
• Create visually striking, usable, and ergonomic physical products
• Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment
• Explore materials, CMF, and DFM tradeoffs to guide production decisions
• Build prototypes in-house using 3D printing, CNC machining, PCBs, silicone molding, and hand tools
• Present work clearly and confidently internally and to clients
• Contribute to early-stage product definition, feature scoping, and user-focused thinking
• Adapt to a fast-moving, collaborative studio setting

Требования:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Product Design or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of experience in product or industrial design
• Expert knowledge of CAD and DFM workflows
• Exceptional skills in Fusion, including Design, Rendering, and Electronics modules
• Good understanding of materials and manufacturing, including plastics, metals, and composites
• Practical experience prototyping and building functional models
• Familiarity with UX and interaction design principles for physical interfaces
• Confident English speaker, communicator, and presenter
• Strong portfolio showing design process, design thinking, and finished outcomes
• Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel under tight deadlines
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and effective in high-pressure or fast-paced situations
• Agency, design studio, or startup experience is required
• Must currently live in the Amsterdam area of the Netherlands
• Must have the legal right to work in the Netherlands
• Nice to have: familiarity with embedded systems or firmware workflows, technical understanding of electronics and/or software programming, experience designing audio gear, control interfaces, or MIDI-related hardware, knowledge of CMF and strong attention to detail, comfort appearing in process photos, case studies, or media content, general workshop proficiency including CNC, soldering, and mechanical assembly
