For one of our market leading clients in Eindhoven, I'm recruiting for Privacy Officer.

Role Overview

As a Privacy Officer for Spatial Economic Challenges, you will ensure that the Spatial Economic Challenges cluster (Ruimtelijk Economische Opgaven) achieves and maintains full GDPR compliance. Operating within a dedicated privacy team, you will guide data protection management activities-such as QuickScans, DPIAs, and data breach handling-while actively raising privacy awareness and advising management on complex municipal data governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• GDPR Compliance & Management: Drive cluster-wide GDPR compliance by coordinating QuickScans for processing registers, conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and managing data breaches.
• Strategic & Risk Advisory: Develop and execute privacy and information security risk analyses, assessing sector-wide vulnerabilities and advising the Management Team on structural solutions and process optimizations.
• Policy Communication & Awareness: Communicate privacy guidelines, promote data protection awareness and knowledge coaching among cluster colleagues, and monitor regulatory developments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Chief Privacy Officer, sector privacy officers, the DPO, Information Security Officers, and internal process owners to align privacy frameworks.

Your Deliverables:

• Completed DPIAs, QuickScans, and updated municipal data processing registers.
• Risk assessment reports, strategic policy recommendations, and progress trackers for the Management Team.
• Implemented privacy awareness initiatives and optimized compliance workflows.

Your Profile:

• Education: Minimum higher professional education (HBO) working and thinking level, ideally in a relevant legal or administrative discipline.
• Experience (Hard Requirements):
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in privacy law and data protection.
  • Prior municipal or public sector experience is strongly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / AVG), privacy policies, and information security frameworks.
• Personal Style: Politically and organizationally sensitive, analytically strong, capable of building broad internal support, and skilled at translating complex legal requirements into practical advisory actions.
