Job summary

Radboud University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in law to work on the REAL-PETS project, bridging privacy, data protection law, and emerging technologies. You will analyze legal frameworks for online tracking and PETs, applying GDPR and related EU regulations in collaboration with computer scientists.

The position emphasizes interdisciplinary work, English communication, and the potential for impactful, society-driven research within a European collaboration. A 2-year contract is offered.

Qualifications

• PhD in law and technology or related data protection field in Europe, or near completion.
• Strong interest in data protection law and privacy.
• Expertise on GDPR and ideally on DSA, DMA and ePrivacy Directive.
• Interest in interdisciplinary work with computer scientists or researchers from other disciplines.
• Proficiency in English; Dutch not required; strong communication, presentation and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Analysing the legal landscape regarding privacy and online tracking.
• Applying the GDPR and related regulation to newly discovered tracking techniques.
• Analysing legal requirements for the privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) developed in this project.
• Cooperating with computer scientists who detect known and new tracking techniques and develop privacy-enhancing technologies.
