Job summary

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop data-driven methods identifying cross-scale urban archetypes and advancing passive cooling strategies for climate-resilient cities. You will apply clustering and quantitative morphology to urban form, climate, and energy data across multiple European cities from 1980 to 2000 building stock.

Qualifications

PhD in Urbanism, Urban Geography, Geoinformatics, Environmental Engineering or related field.
Advanced GIS skills and spatial data processing abilities.
Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
Knowledge of urban morphology, microclimate and energy relationships.
Excellent written and spoken English; ability to publish in scientific outlets.
Willingness to travel internationally and collaborate in interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and apply a data-driven framework to identify cross-scale urban archetypes.
Perform quantitative morphological analyses and clustering for transferable urban typologies.
Collect and harmonise GIS datasets for multiple European cities and scales.
Contribute to microclimate modelling and energy assessments in a cross-disciplinary team.
Publish results and participate in international project meetings and Living Lab activities.
