Job summary

Utrecht University is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to study organisational culture and gender equality in European workplaces. The postdoc will map family friendly culture conditions, analyze policy uptake, and apply EWCS and ESWS data in a multilevel design.

The role involves writing research papers and a policy brief, and may include some teaching duties within the Department of Sociology. 0.1 FTE teaching possible, with a 36-40 hour week.

Qualifications

• PhD in sociology or related social science completed.
• Strong quantitative research expertise and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English and ability to publish.
• Ability to present quantitative findings clearly to academic and other audiences.
• Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Map conditions for a family friendly organisational culture in European workplaces.
• Test importance of policy uptake for parents’ work and wellbeing.
• Use EWCS (2005–2024) and ESWS data in a multilevel design.
• Write research papers and a policy brief.
• Organise scenario-analysis with stakeholders and contribute to meetings.
