Job summary

TU Delft is offering a 2-year postdoctoral researcher position to advance spaceborne radar systems in the Netherlands. The role is part of NL-RIA 2.0, focusing on miniaturized radar instruments and distributed space systems.

You will work with NL-RIA partners to derive requirements, develop concepts, and contribute to network activities and international workshops. You will be based at TU Delft, within the Section of Space Systems Engineering, contributing to end-to-end spacecraft engineering

Qualifications

  • PhD in engineering required with aerospace/electronics focus.
  • Proven experience in space mission design and space systems engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of Earth observation or radar technologies.
  • Ideally experience in multi-entity project management.

Responsibilities

  • Derive high-level user requirements for distributed SAR and near-nadir radar imagers.
  • Evaluate fractionated space system concepts for radar instruments.
  • Develop system requirements and concepts for NL-RIA 2.0 network.
  • Organise network support activities including market survey and studies.
  • Prepare proposals and coordinate meetings and international workshops.
