Job summary

Gemeente Zaanstad is seeking a planologist to develop, update and apply the environmental plan. You will be the content expert on spatial planning and advise colleagues, project teams and council members on planning questions.

You will handle tasks such as advising on area developments, drafting plan components, translating spatial policy into legal rules, and assessing complex planning issues, while engaging residents and stakeholders in participation efforts.

Qualifications

• University degree in planning or related field with strong knowledge of spatial planning practices.
• Experience translating policy into implementable planning rules and regulations.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and translate complex issues into clear guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update and apply the environmental plan as the content expert in spatial planning.
• Advise colleagues, project teams and governance bodies on planning questions.
• Draft, modify and justify parts of the environmental plan; translate policy into legal rules.
