Job summary

J. de Jonge Group is seeking a Workshop Foreman to lead the piping workshop, directing fitters and welders to deliver safe, on-time prefab projects. You will oversee work preparation, quality control, and planning, while guiding a team through isometric drawings and welding supervision.

You will drive process improvements, maintain safety, and coordinate with QC, planning, and production management to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• MBO-level education in mechanical engineering/metalworking.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in an industrial workshop.
• Experience with piping and prefabrication.
• Knowledge of welding techniques (ASME, ISO).
• VCA VOL and additional certifications such as VVL-H are a plus.
• Strong communication skills, able to handle stress and motivate a team.
• Basic skills in Outlook and Excel.
• Dutch fluency in speech and writing; English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of fitters and welders in the piping workshop.
• Ensure prefab projects run smoothly and on schedule.
• Monitor quality and dimensions of the work.
• Motivate the team and drive process improvements.
• Read and interpret isometric drawings.
• Supervise welding work and dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain order, cleanliness, and safety.
• Report to production management.
• Collaborate with work preparation, QC, and planning.
• Optimize work processes.
