Job summary

TU Delft invites applications for a PhD position on Safe and Effective Handover Practices in Sociotechnical ICU Context. The project investigates ICU handovers, their sociotechnical setting, implementation in clinical work, and effects on patient safety and care outcomes.

The four-year programme offers two contracts (1.5+2.5 years) with annual salary €3,204–€4,051 gross, 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.

Qualifications

• Background in Medicine, Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Clinical Technology, Technical Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management of Technology, Human Factors, Complex Systems Engineering and Management or related field
• Affinity with Healthcare
• Willingness to work with healthcare stakeholders
• Dutch proficiency prioritized for Dutch healthcare setting
• English proficiency - verbal and written

Responsibilities

• PhD research on ICU handover practices in sociotechnical context
• Examination of implementation and adaptation in clinical settings
• Assessment of impact on patient safety and care outcomes
