Job summary

Karlstad University is looking for a PhD student (m/f/x) focused on probabilistic turbulence models at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica. The position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research in computational fluid dynamics, supervised by Dr. B. Sanderse. You will also collaborate with Eindhoven University of Technology to earn your PhD.

The initial contract lasts for 18 months with an attractive salary package, including holiday allowances and a year-end bonus. Qualifications include a completed MSc degree and strong expertise in relevant fields.

Qualifications

  • Completed MSc in applied mathematics, physics or a related discipline.
  • Strong expertise in numerical analysis, stochastic methods, generative machine learning, computational fluid dynamics or data assimilation.
  • Excellent programming skills (e.g., Python, Julia).
  • Proven research talent, good academic writing and presentation skills.
  • Team player, fully committed to working with other team members of SYMBIOSIS.
  • Excellent command of English.
