Job summary

Utrecht University invites applications for a PhD position focused on novel cell secretome-based therapeutics for osteoarthritis. The project spans wet-lab experiments, multi-omics analyses, AI-enhanced methods, and collaboration within a 10-partner EU consortium including industry partners.

You will gain expertise in cell biology, metabolism research, mass spectrometry, and EV research, with secondments possible in the Netherlands and abroad.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biology or related field.
• Strong interest in cell biology and hands-on analytical wet-lab techniques.
• Enthusiasm for nanoparticle analysis and advanced technologies such as high-resolution flow cytometry and optical fingerprinting.
• Interest in mass spectrometry and multi-omics analyses; experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in R, Python, or Matlab; interest in computational methods including AI analyses.
• Excellent English skills (C1).
• Interest in multidisciplinary research across academia and industry.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary consortium with strong communication skills.
