Job summary

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is offering a PhD position within an NWO-funded project on early modern religious debates in Dutch. You will study how debates shaped public spheres and audience roles, working with a second PhD candidate using digital humanities methods.

A full description is available on request. Responsibilities include writing a dissertation and scholarly articles, contributing to knowledge exchange, and assisting in preparing a critical edition of debates.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in humanities or related field.
• Strong knowledge of early modern Dutch history and debates.
• Ability to read and analyse early modern sources.

Responsibilities

• Write a PhD dissertation and academic articles.
• Contribute to knowledge exchange and research outreach.
• Contribute to critical edition of early modern Dutch-language debates.
• Collaborate with the research group and department.
• Participate in Graduate School and NOSTER courses.
