Job summary

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) invites applications for a PhD position in metrology using digital holography. Strong background in optics and signal processing is essential. The position is embedded in a physics environment with collaborators in applied mathematics and high-tech industry.

Qualifications

• MSc degree in Applied Physics or Electrical Engineering (or the equivalent).
• Strong interest in optics, signal processing, and mathematics or machine learning.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and construct advanced digital holography (DH) systems to visualize complex optical samples.
• Utilize multi-angle and multi-wavelength DH measurements and convert them to accurate sample reconstructions.
• Develop and optimize signal processing and tomographic reconstruction algorithms, including ML-based speed improvements.
