Job summary

Delft University of Technology in Delft invites applications for a PhD position in Digital Holography for Metrology. As semiconductor feature sizes shrink, this project aims to design and construct advanced DH systems to visualize complex samples.

You will work within a physics environment and collaborate with applied physics, applied mathematics, and industry partners. The 4-year contract includes a salary in the Dutch scale (€3,204–€4,051 monthly), 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus,

Qualifications

• MSc degree in applied physics, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
• Interest in optics, signal processing and mathematics or machine learning.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced digital holography systems for complex samples.
• Develop multi-angle and multi-wavelength measurements and reconstructions.
• Apply machine learning to improve speed and accuracy of algorithms.
