PhD in Dynamic Space–Time Interfaces for High-Speed THz Beam Control is based at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The project is part of SPARK, a Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions Doctoral Network across Europe, with supervision by Dr. Ahmed H.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Applied Physics, Physics, EE, Optics/Photonics).
  • Strong foundation in electromagnetics, wave physics, microwave/THz engineering, or photonics.
  • Experience with numerical modelling or scientific programming (Python, MATLAB, COMSOL, CST, Ansys).

Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts for fast spatial and temporal modulation of THz waves.
  • Model interactions with dynamically changing THz interfaces.
  • Design structures with subwavelength control and high modulation rates.
  • Explore modulation mechanisms including MEMS-based approaches.
  • Fabricate and experimentally characterize THz devices.
  • Build THz experiments to study beam steering and frequency shifts.
  • Demonstrate GHz-rate spatiotemporal beamforming and nonreciprocal THz communication.
