Job summary

Hotelschool The Hague invites applications for a PhD candidate position to conduct applied research in our Research Centre, in close collaboration with Lector Alexander Schmidt and with guidance from colleagues at VU Amsterdam.

You will explore digital tools and their pedagogical impact in hospitality education, design engaging workshops (VR, AI, immersive learning), connect with industry partners, and help develop living labs across The Hague and Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• Interest in digital technology and applied research.
• Willingness to engage with external partners & stakeholders.
• Ability to translate research into educational practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct applied research relevant to Hotelschool The Hague and its Research Centre.
• Design and organise engaging workshops and learning experiences for students, incorporating digital and technological developments.
• Collaborate with IT and Maintenance to realise ideas in the classroom and ensure feasibility, sustainability and scalability.
• Develop HTH living labs by researching technology in hotel operations.
