Job summary

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam invites applications for a doctoral researcher to examine the legal and ethical governance of AI-enabled Earth Observation within the EO-TRUST project. Completed LL.M. or equivalent master's degree in law.
Strong academic research and legal analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct independent doctoral research on legal and ethical governance of AI-enabled Earth Observation.
Map and analyse applicable legal frameworks including international space law, EU Space Act, EU AI Act and security/military law.
Conduct doctrinal and empirical research, including interviews with government, regulation, industry stakeholders.
