Job summary

Walgreens in Amsterdam is seeking a retail pharmacy assistant to support pharmacists and ensure accurate prescription processing. You will engage customers, help locate products, and assist with dispensing under supervision.

Responsibilities include using pharmacy systems, counting and pouring medications, and maintaining inventory. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is preferred; PTCB certification is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior Walgreens experience.
• Prefer good math skills for prescriptions including counting, measuring and weighing.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist under supervision in dispensing prescriptions and obtaining patient/drug information.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems; process prescriptions.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring medications; verify accuracy and interactions.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
• Assist with pharmacy department inventory management and workflow.
