Job description

Ever wondered what it's like to shape the employee experience at a company that's internationally scaling? At ComplianceWise, you won't just support HR, you'll own it, end to end.

We're a fast-growing SaaS scale-up building AML compliance technology that's redefining how organizations stay compliant. Our platform, Grub, helps over 600 organizations stay on the right side of Dutch financial crime regulations, and we're just getting started. We're based in Amsterdam and expanding across Europe.

We're open, international, and refreshingly non-hierarchical. Trust, collaboration, and a healthy dose of humour are baked into how we work, because we believe work should be challenging, rewarding, and genuinely enjoyable. Our values: we succeed as a team, we make things happen, we launch and learn, and we embrace honesty

About the role

People are at the heart of how we build this company, and we're looking for someone who actually believes that. As our People Business Partner, you'll operationally own the full employee experience, from the moment someone says yes to the offer, to the day they leave. You are the person employees feel comfortable coming to before things become a bigger deal. You will work closely with the leadership and report to the COO.

What you’ll do
Recruitment & onboarding
  • Own the full hiring process from job posting to offer to first day
  • Build our employer brand and attract people who'll genuinely thrive here
  • Make sure new joiners feel set up for success, and that offboarding is handled with the same care
  • Run reviews, feedback cycles, and coaching conversations
  • Own our L&D program and help people grow in the right direction for them
  • Partner with managers on team dynamics and where their people want to grow
People ops & compliance
  • Manage payroll, benefits, compensation reviews, and HR tooling, keep the engine run smoothly
  • Handle documentation, contracts, and legal requirements, including as we expand internationally
  • Keep our HR systems and processes tidy and up to date
Culture & employee experience
  • Keep a real pulse on how people are feeling and turn that into action
  • Organize moments that bring the team together, not just events for the sake of it
  • Own other people moments: birthdays, anniversaries etc and the office experience
  • Support wellbeing and make sure people feel genuinely heard
  • Contribute to how we think about people as we grow
What you bring
  • HR experience, ideally across both recruitment and people operations, you're comfortable owning the process, not just supporting it.
  • Strong people instincts: genuine empathy, real discretion, and the ability to have honest conversations when they're needed
  • A proactive mindset: you notice things before they become problems and take ownership without being asked
  • Sharp organizational skills and solid follow-through: people can count on you to get things done
  • Comfort with a degree of ambiguity: you can pick up context quickly, figure out what matters most, and keep moving
What you get
  • Growth opportunity to become the trusted strategic partner of the leadership team
  • 25 vacation days, plus the option to take 2 additional weeks of unpaid leave per year
  • Hybrid working: up to 2 days per week from home, and up to 2 weeks per year working remotely abroad
  • Special leaves including D&I day off, volunteering day off, and moving day off.
  • Option to take a sabbatical upon reaching milestones.
  • OpenUp subscription for mental wellbeing
  • Public transport reimbursement
  • An organization that truly invests in your personal and professional development
  • Multiple ways to connect as a team, including team events, shared lunches, and optional Thursday drinks (DoMiBo)
  • We value flexibility, work-life balance, and family-friendly policies to help you thrive both professionally and personally.
  • A bright office in Amsterdam overlooking the Olympic Stadium
