Job summary

Thales in Hengelo is seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to join the Radar Front-End department. You will design and deliver qualified PCBs, from initial placement to final routing, supporting RF, analog, digital power and mechanical interfaces in a high-tech environment.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary team, ensure manufacturability and design rule compliance, and contribute to design reviews. Fluent English and HBO Electrical Engineering degree are required; expect a collaborative culture with

  • HBO education in Electrical Engineering completed.
  • Fluent in English and good teamwork skills.
  • Ability to design PCB from placement to routing and DFM review.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver qualified PCB designs with documentation.
  • Participate in an integrated development team on RF, analog, and digital power.
  • Apply PCB technology knowledge to manufacturability and design rules.
  • Place components, define electrical and mechanical constraints, route critical nets.
  • Complete PCB design including DFM analysis and design reviews.

PCB Layout Engineer

The Radar Front-End department consisting of around 75 people, designs and develops state-of-the-art antenna’s for our radars including transmitters, receivers, signal generators, digital signal processing & control and other digital and analog building blocks. Beside that we explore new technologies and innovations for these domains as well as for the architecture of Radar Front-Ends as a whole.


About the job

As PCB layout engineer you are responsible for the design and delivery of qualified PCB designs and the accompanying technical documentation. As part of an integrated development team, you are involved in early RF, analog, digital power and mechanical design activities. You bring in your knowledge about PCB technology, manufacturability, cost and design rules to help fulfill our complex PCBA requirements. Your design work will cover the full spectrum of activities, from initial placement to product realization; placing components, defining (electrical and mechanical) constraints, routing of critical nets and completing PCB design including DFM analysis and design reviews.


You are interested to acquire new insights your profession: in the technology, methods and tools and embed this into our developments to continuously improve our way of working.


About you

You have successfully finished your HBO education in Electrical Engineering. Due to the complexity of our solutions, your creativity and ideas are required to provide alternatives. You use your ability to work in teams and your communication skills to shape the final solution. You are fluent in English.
